Reddit can be useful for research, communities, product advice, and technical discussions. The problem is when one useful thread turns into much more browsing than you planned.
With Mindova, you can add reddit.com and old.reddit.comto your blocked websites, block it immediately with a zero-minute limit, or give yourself a small daily allowance.
For this guide, we tested the current Mindova browser extension ourselves. We added Reddit to Blocked Sites, tested both an immediate block and a daily allowance, and confirmed that Mindova interrupted access to reddit.com.
Quick answer: Open Site Management โ Blocked Sites, add
reddit.com, then choose an Individual Site Limit. Set it to 0 minutes/day to block Reddit on every visit, or choose a higher limit if you still want some daily access.
Important: This controls the Reddit website in your desktop browser. It does not block an individual Reddit user, a specific subreddit, or the Reddit mobile app.
Install Mindova in Chrome and sign in with Google or email.
Add Mindova to Chrome โ Free

If this is your first time using Mindova, see the Mindova Setup Guide.
Open the Mindova dashboard, then:
reddit.com.Reddit should now appear in your blocked websites.
We also tested old.reddit.com. After adding reddit.com to Mindova's Blocked Sites, the same blocking rule also applied when we opened old.reddit.com. We confirmed that Mindova interrupted access there as well.
Once Reddit is added, Mindova creates an Individual Site Limit for it.

Set Reddit to:
0 minutes/day
In Mindova, zero does not mean unlimited.
It means Reddit is blocked when you try to visit it.
This is useful when Reddit is mainly a distraction and you do not need regular access during the day.
You can also give Reddit its own daily allowance.
Mindova supports per-site limits from 0 to 240 minutes/day, in 5-minute steps.
During our test, we also used:

10 minutes/day
A small allowance can make more sense if you use Reddit for research, troubleshooting, or specific communities but do not want to keep browsing afterward.

When the restriction is reached, Mindova interrupts access with its Focus Time screen.
We confirmed this directly while opening reddit.com.
Instead of continuing automatically, you can close Reddit and return to your task or deliberately add more time.
Mindova creates friction rather than an irreversible lock.
If you genuinely need Reddit, you can continue. If you opened it without a clear reason, the interruption gives you a chance to stop.
These are two different controls.
An Individual Site Limit applies only to Reddit.
The Total Daily Distraction Limit applies across all websites you have marked as distracting.
For example, Reddit, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and X can all contribute toward one combined daily allowance.
Neutral websites do not count toward that distraction total.
If social platforms are part of the same pattern, see our guides to blocking Instagram, blocking TikTok, and blocking X.
If Reddit is only one of several websites consuming more time than you intended, see how to block distracting websites and set different limits from one place.
A daily limit controls how much Reddit you allow across the day.
A Focus Session is useful when you need a specific work or study period with fewer interruptions.
During the work portion of a Mindova Focus Session, websites that are not explicitly marked Productive are blocked, including Neutral websites.
A simple workflow is:
This works well when Reddit is useful for research but distracting during focused work.
Not with this workflow.
Mindova controls access to the reddit.com domain rather than individual parts of Reddit.
It does not separately block:
If one subreddit is the problem but the rest of Reddit is useful, a small daily allowance may make more sense than blocking the entire website.
Yes. Mindova also works on supported Chromium-based desktop browsers including:
The same workflow applies: add reddit.com, choose an Individual Site Limit, and use Focus Sessions when you need stricter focus.
First, confirm that reddit.com appears under Site Management โ Blocked Sites.
Then check its Individual Site Limit. For an immediate block, use 0 minutes/day. If Reddit still has unused time available, it can remain accessible until that allowance is consumed.
If Reddit was already open when you changed the rule, refresh the tab or close it and reopen reddit.com.
Also confirm that Mindova shows Active & Protecting.
If everything looks correct but Reddit still behaves differently, visit the Mindova Help Center.
Add reddit.com to Mindova's Blocked Sites and set its Individual Site Limit to 0 minutes/day.
Yes. Mindova supports per-site limits from 0 to 240 minutes per day.
No. The current workflow applies to the Reddit website as a whole.
No. Blocking another account is a Reddit platform feature. Mindova controls access to the website itself.
No. This guide covers the desktop browser experience.
Yes. The same workflow works on supported Chromium-based browsers including Brave and Microsoft Edge.
Reddit does not have to be permanently available or completely removed from your day.
Add reddit.com to Mindova, set it to 0 minutes/day when you want an immediate block, or choose a realistic daily allowance when you still need Reddit for research or communities.
